The calibration of your UFDR system normally requires you to read the UFDR data in real time, while comparing values against the aircraft manufacturer’s AMM octal range and spec. Sensors or systems which are discovered to be out of range are either adjusted, replaced, or in some instances re-engineered. The industry standard tool for carrying out the calibration task is generically known as the DSDU (Data Signal Display Unit or Digital Signal Display Unit). Busworx 717® is the leading industry DSDU perfectly designed for reading your UFDR data in octal, binary, decimal, and hexadecimal numeric formats. Technically speaking, UFDR pins H & J allow for monitoring of the FDR playback signal in real time.
The Busworx 717® application automatically detects your ARINC ‘573/717’ bus speed and syncrhonization type (Teledyne or Hamilton Standard). You also have the option of reading all words in real time or selecting only the specific words you require per your FDR spec and aircraft model. This flexibility affords you opportunity of monitoring mandatory and optional UFDR parameters.
Busworx 717® gives you the option of recording the values during calibration, so that you can perform post-analysis in the comfort of your office. As with most of our data interface products, Busworx 717® is hosted from our VADS® mobile computer.
