VADS® (Virtual Aircraft Data System) Mobile Computer
The VADS® mobile computer hosts all Flight Vision™ CVR, FDR, & ‘Avionics Test/Ground Support Equipment’ software applications, enabling ‘on-wing’ & ‘off-wing’ control and management of your aircraft data. This natural work flow concept solidifies all of your common data intensive tasks and enables you to take advantage of our wide family of data products. From a single user friendly platform, you can accomplish CVR audio download, CVR audio playback, FDR download, FDR analysis, FDR readout, FDR real-time data monitoring, FDRS calibration, & ARINC databus troubleshooting. By simply inserting the Flight Vision™ data interface cable into the VADS® mobile computer usb port and connecting the other end of the cable to the target component, you can perform a whole host of download and analysis tasks with just a few simple steps. Adding extra functionality and download capability for additional CVRs and FDRs requires a computer upgrade (free of charge) and purchase of additional interface cables.
How does it work? Well, basically a ‘commercial-off-the-shelf’computer is not designed to communicate with avionics components. This is due to differences in communication protocol, data bus size, and ‘receive/transmit’ speeds. We overcome that challenge by bridging the gap between the two languages. By designing cutting edge hardware into our interface cables and embedding our trademark software into our microchips, the VADS® mobile computer becomes a virtual aircraft data system platform. Our industry recognized VADS® mobile computer is customized and pre-configured with the necessary avionics operating system (varies according to download and playback needs) and application drivers for your diverse data requirements.
Upon purchasing, what do I receive? The VADS® mobile computer (models may vary) and associated interface cable(s) ship from our facility in one package. No registration or additional software installation is required. When received, simply power on the VADS® mobile computer, connect the interface cable to your target system, and begin your download, analysis, ‘and/or’ data monitoring tasks. The computer and cable come with a 3 year warranty and the software is warranted for the life of the product. Our customers can attest to the reliability and efficiency of our systems. In the unlikely event you require a hardware or software ‘upgrade/update’, we’ll provide all support free of charge. Unlike some of our competitors, we believe in the reliability of our products and do not believe the customer should be paying for services which should be inclusive.
