The first step in FDR maintenance is extracting the FDR stored data in order to perform the necessary FDR READOUT. The data – binary file – is then converted to engineering units and graphical format using READOUT software. After reviewing the FDR data and identifying parameters which fall outside of mandated range, resolution, and accuracy limits, CALIBRATION may be required in order to legally return the aircraft to service. This 3 part process is essential for the continued airworthiness of your Flight Data Recorder System (FDRS).
