Honeywell SSUFDR 980-4120
Honeywell Solid State Universal Flight Data Recorder (SSUFDR) P/N 980-4120-XXXX ; (XXXX = configuration identifiers)
- The SSUFDR 980-4120 is an upgraded UFDR 980-4100. A conversion kit is used to upgrade the magnetic tape to solid state memory
- The upgrade provides the UFDR with the reliability of SSFDR technology and adds rapid download capability
- The front end ATE download connector is identical to the one employed in the SSFDR 980-4700
- Stores up to 25 hours or more depending on version, aircraft configuration, and recording speeds. Typically downloads 25 hours of FDR data in 5 minutes (1X recorder – 64 wps), 10 minutes (2X recorder – 128wps), or 20 minutes (4X recorder – 256wps)
- Downloadable “on-wing” or “off-wing” via front end interface connector
- Depending on the basic model designator (8th position in P/N, e.g. – 980-4120-X), the unit can be used as an ARINC 542 FDR or 573/717 DFDR
- In the ARINC 542 mode, the 573/717 data stream is generated by the internal data acquisition system and subsequently transmitted to the internal recording module
- In the ARINC 573/717 mode, the unit receives aircraft parameter signals from an onboard FDAU (Flight Data Acquisition Unit) or DFDAU (Digital Flight Data Acquisition Unit).
